Buybox Repricing now works on Makro
Makro auto-pricing has been in early access for a while, and from today it is available to every Palmetrics account. If you sell on Makro Marketplace, you can now let Palmetrics compete for the Makro buybox for you, the same way it has done on Takealot since 2020.
Your trackers now count twice
This is the part we are most pleased with. You do not need to buy anything extra to reprice on Makro.
Every tracker you have, free or paid, now comes in two pools of the same size: one for Takealot and one for Makro. If you have 100 Standard and 50 High frequency trackers, you have that many for Takealot and that many again for Makro. The 10 free Standard trackers on the base plan work the same way.
Usage is counted separately per channel, so a product you track on Makro does not use up a Takealot tracker, and the other way round.
How to get started
- Connect your Makro seller account if you have not already. The Makro integration guide walks through adding the Palmetrics user to your Makro account.
- Open the Makro Buybox Trackers page in the app. It is a separate page from your Takealot trackers.
- Add a product, set a minimum and maximum price, and save. Palmetrics takes it from there.
If you have used the Takealot tracker before, the Makro page will feel familiar. The auto-pricing introduction covers the setup step by step.
What carries over from Takealot
The following features work on Makro trackers too:
- Standard, Medium and High frequencies, updating every 20, 10 or 6 minutes
- Markup-based repricing, so your min and max follow your cost price
- Daily price reset and minimum price reset, which apply to both channels from the same settings
- Price change history, freeze price changes and bulk updates via CSV
Two things are Takealot-specific for now. The fastest delivery buybox setting only applies to Takealot trackers, and projected profit on Makro deducts your cost price but not Makro's marketplace fees.
